About: Goal Setter with Rachael Baer

In the moment (at a restaurant, on a date night, not hoping to make life changing plans) I didn’t take the question too seriously. I probably said “I don’t know” and moved on.

But as we moved through the next month of life, the question kept popping up in my mind

The First Goal Setter Year

It all started on an average date night celebrating a 29th birthday.

On this date, like every other birthday date in our family, Trent listed all of my accomplishments of the year. I had spent the year volunteering and traveling. Once we’d finished listing things, Trent asked me what I wanted to do before turning 30…

“It wasn’t really about what I needed to do by age 30, but about inspiring action and starting the things I had always dreamed of doing.”

If nothing else, I hope Goal Setters helps me keep my own eye on the prize. Not that I must achieve every lofty goal, but that I might have the joy of experiencing life without the worry of what others might think. Experience the excitement of life’s possibilities even when it takes work.

And if witnessing my journey inspires you, that would only add to the joy of it all.

A month later, I had decided on a list of goals and I shared it on Instagram.

For the next year, I pursued these goals. The fact that I had a list and some idea of accountability helped me maintain momentum and excitement toward what I wanted to achieve.
